What we do
We buy businesses to own them, not to flip them.
Fellwater buys established, profitable businesses directly from the people who built them, and owns them with a long-term orientation and no predetermined resale date.
How we buy
Directly, from owners.
No auction, no process run by a bank, no deck. A conversation with the person who decides, a written number early, and a timeline set before you commit.
Most businesses this size are sold through a process: a broker or banker builds a book, sends it to a list, and runs bids against each other. It has its place. It also takes most of a year, costs a fee, and puts your business in front of buyers you'll never meet. We'd rather you deal with us directly, and we've built the way we work around that: four steps, one decision-maker, and everything that's conditional called conditional in the LOI.
How we own
For the long term.
No date to sell by. The name, the people and the customers stay wherever that's what makes the business work — which is nearly always.
We don't fix what isn't broken. We do invest where it helps: a bench, a bank that returns calls, insurance and purchasing at a size a single company can't get, capital for the next truck or the next location. When something changes, the owner and the team will know why.
What Monday looks likeWhere we look
Across most industries.
A good business looks the same whether it fixes furnaces, ships parts, or writes software: customers who come back, people who know what they're doing, and real earnings at the end of the year.
Where it makes sense, the first business we buy in an industry becomes the foundation for a larger group built over time, with the owner who built it running it and owning a piece of the group.
